Ministry of Education Requests Check on Vaccination Card Only at First Day of School

Phnom Penh: The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Hang Chuon Narong has ordered all educational institutions to stop checking for immunization cards on young students at a daily basis, requiring only one check at the first day of school. The decision was made after concerns about damage or loss identification cards by students and their parents.

The Ministry of Education has decided to reopen schools nationwide on November first, after being closed for more than seven months due to the Covid-19 crisis. The reopening comes as the situation of Covid-19 in Cambodia has improved and more children have been vaccinated.
